Thwarted again

April 14, 2010

I should have known better.  The wind should have been a clue, but no – I didn’t listen.  Instead I tooled up the cross bike in preparation of my first ride to work day.  I had my leggings out, my helmet cleaned (have you ever tried to de-funk a helmet?  Impossible), and fresh batteries in my lights.  Yes, today was going to be a glorious ride.

I knew something was amiss at 5 when I woke up and saw that the sky wasn’t grey, it was white.  Overnight we picked up 2 inches of snow, and it’s still coming down.

So it was another morning on my trainer.  It wasn’t bad, but I NEED to ride outside.  It’s consuming me.  Next year, I’m definately buying studs for my mountain bike.  Another full winter of trainer rides will probably drive me batty.

If you have some extra sun, please send it to Alaska.

Stupid snow.
